Welcome to the ninth episode of the Elevator Pitch series 5!
Every week we publish a 30-second pitch from our Elevator Pitch winners.
These startups, chosen by a panel of expert judges for their potential to change the world, join an alumni group that includes the likes of YPlan, Hassle, import.io and Glow, and have to-date raised more than $86m.
In this series we took the founders on a ride unlike any other for the most exciting pitch of their lives.
3D vision
WonderLuk is a curated online marketplace for ultra-contemporary 3D printed jewellery and accessories.
Fashion and design lovers can choose from a range of vibrant colours and have their pieces made from high-tech nylon and metals such as sterling silver or 18k gold-plated brass.
All pieces are created exclusively by independent designers from around the world and are then made to order in the UK and Europe at a fraction of the price of a traditional jewellery brand.
The company’s vision is to be the global destination for individualised design, fuelled by the endless possibilities of 3D printing.
Big partnerships
It’s been an exciting year for the WonderLuk team, starting with a rather interesting deal with The Science Museum to provide it with super-cool scientific accessories, and ending with a prime spot at Topshop’s flagship store on Oxford Circus during the holiday season.
Having launched in Q2 2014 with six designers, and then going live with their fully-bespoke service in Q4, they have had to build out that network, which now includes 40 designers worldwide, as well as five staff.
The team also boasts top advisors from the likes of King Game and Google.
Fundraising
With plans to become a £30m business in five years, the company is currently looking to top up its early seed funding of £250,000 with another £400,000.
