Welcome to UKTN: Announcing our new name and new site!

Welcome to our new look and our new name – Tech City News is now UKTN!
For the past four years, Tech City News has been providing quality content for those working in the UK technology industry – an industry that’s highly innovative and ever evolving. With this in mind, we decided it was about time we underwent something of an evolution ourselves. So, without further ado … WELCOME to UKTN!
We started off, back in 2013, just covering developments in east London’s technology hub, known as ‘Tech City’ (hence the name ‘Tech City News’). But in recent years tech hubs have started springing up all across the nation, and it began to feel like our name no longer reflected our content, nor our audience.
We wanted a new name that reflected who we are and what we do, so UK Tech News (UKTN for short) seemed like the perfect choice!
An overhaul
We’ve wanted to completely overhaul the website for quite a while, but the rebrand seemed like the perfect time to go ahead and actually do it.
UKTN is so much more than a news website. Our mission is to support a rapidly expanding community of tech entrepreneurs and SMEs from across the UK, by providing the expert business advice, data and networking opportunities they need to succeed.
You’ll notice that news is still our primary focus on the homepage, but we’re now also beefing up our output of quality advice-led content. We’ve assembled an A-team of guest contributors, who are experts in all the fields that have an impact upon startup and scaleup life, from HR to accountancy, law to marketing and much more.
Their posts will appear on the homepage, as well as in their relevant sections, which can be accessed via the main navigation bar.
Right at the top of the site, you’ll find handy links to some of our most popular pages, including the events listing section, our video page and our guides landing page. The guides section is relatively new, so head over and take a look – you’ll currently find a guide to IP law and another that highlights what’s going on in the tech scene in Norwich.
We have a load of great guides in the pipeline, too, including one on recruiting tech talent and another on what to include in an investment agreement, so keep your eyes peeled for those!
Additional features
You’ll notice that, thanks to a new tab in the nav bar, it’s now also easier to access our Investment Tracker, which is a list of all the UK tech funding rounds we write about. Our dev team has worked its magic and you can now filter the data however you want, from deal size to location of company; and investors to date of announcement.
Our Press Release Service is still alive and kicking, so if your company announcement doesn’t quite meet our criteria for editorial coverage, you can still get your information out there to the masses. Scroll down the homepage and that’s where you’ll find it, or click here to go straight to the Press Release Service page.
Don’t forget our flagship Elevator Pitch competition, either! The application process is now open, so if you’re a UK-founded startup innovating in any of the following tech verticals, apply now: FinTech, AdTech/MarTech, HealthTech, PropTech, Cybersecurity.
