London-based esports advertising startup Aggero has raised $2m (£1.5m) in a seed funding round led by LAUNCHub Ventures.
The company operates within the professional gaming industry, connecting brands and advertisers to leading figures in esports and video game streaming.
The new funds will support Aggero’s scaling goals of international expansion, as well as its R&D projects of additional monetisation tools and potential ventures into applications in the metaverse.
Aggero provides analytics for the monetisation of professional gaming brands. The company allows advertisers looking to join forces with these gaming brands to observe the level of influence and general performance of them, to better decide where to spend and how much.
Aggero’s analytics also give streamers better insight into how to grow their gaming brands. The company’s database currently contains over 600,000 gaming influencers that can be matched to participating sponsors.
“The traditional divides between digital and social media, influencer, paid media, and live stream marketing have broken down with the advent of the new creator economy paradigm. Brands and individuals have all become content creators in an ecosystem that blends fandom, entertainment, advertising, and revenue,” said Aggero CEO Cristian Manea.
“By unifying partnership management, monetisation systems, and measurement, while setting a future path to design applications with a focus on metaverse applications, Aggero will be a comprehensive strategic platform for the evolving Web3 marketing landscape”.
Other funding participants this round include GapMinder, SCM Advisors, Klaas Kersting and Phil Mohr.
The previous funding for the company came from bValue, Founders Factory, Engine Media, and several angel investors back in February 2021. The latest round brings Aggero’s total funding raised up to $3.3m (£2.5m).
