Charged with identifying and developing growth opportunities through strategic business management, Ramesh specialises in the transformation of privately owned entities into prime acquisition targets. A keen gymaholic, the best time to catch Ramesh is weight training at 5am.
Joining forces post a group redundancy in 2008, Ramesh Sharma, Nia Williams, Andrew Goldsmith and Marco Callegari have capitalised – at a momentous rate – on a collective ability to identify new business opportunities among start-ups and distressed companies, turning them into multi-million pound businesses.
They launched ‘The Publishing Group (TPG UK)’ over a 2008 post-redundancy drink in the Hoxton Hotel, and the undeterred quartet have weathered a fair few storms to build the UK’s largest privately owned media entity in the corporate and financial sectors.
The group initially strived to seek out billable business models that required no bank roll – just talent, innovation, and passion. In more recent years, their continued success has enabled strategic investment into marcomms-based software and technology to help them drive forward, and profit from, tomorrow’s increasingly connected world.
Each of the directors bring different but complementary skills to the business, they all share the entrepreneurial spirit and vision that has driven the continued expansion and growth of the group.
Delivering strategic, solution led counsel surrounding business growth and operational best practice, Marco’s experience includes niche audience targeting and research/data led media strategies. When Marco isn’t recording his next album in any given karaoke studio, he’ll be doting on his protégé, his 3 year old son.
Nia was previously editor of a number of mortgage and finance-related titles as well as a regular contributor to national newspapers. Charged with building a strong editorial team to provide quality, independent copy for the magazines and websites produced by TPG, her success in this can be seen in the number of awards her team and titles have won – unlike her favourite football team, Leicester City.
Tasked with managing the accounts of all the different companies within TPG, Andrew’s speciality is finance and his astute business sense means he can spot opportunities just from a balance sheet. Juggling more balls than his beloved Arsenal, Andrew can be found on the golf course most weekends where his favourite hole is the 19th.
